2nd Shift Shop Foreman / Supervisor

Our client in the New Kensington PA area is seeking an experienced 2nd shift Shop Foreman to lead daily operations in our ASME code fabrication shop. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pressure vessel and piping fabrication, proven leadership skills, and a thorough understanding of ASME Code requirements. This role oversees welders, fitters, and fabricators to ensure all projects are completed safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of shop personnel, including fitters, welders, and helpers.
Plan and schedule work to meet project deadlines and customer requirements.
Ensure all fabrication and welding operations comply with ASME code, company quality standards, and customer specifications.
Verify proper materials, welding procedures, and documentation are used for each job.
Oversee fitting, welding, and assembly of carbon steel, stainless steel, nickel alloys, and red metals.
Work closely with Quality Control, Engineering, and Project Management to resolve fabrication or design issues.
Provide technical guidance to team members.
Maintain accurate production records, time tracking, and job progress reporting.
Drive a culture of quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement in shop operations.
Job Requirements Qualifications:
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in fabrication and welding, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or lead role.
In-depth knowledge of ASME code fabrication and welding processes (GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, SMAW, SAW).
Strong ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, weld maps, and code documentation.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Commitment to workplace safety and quality control.
Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, ERP systems) preferred.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
Comfortable working in a shop/industrial environment with appropriate PPE.
