The Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine is currently seeking an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to join our team of professionals. Duties

Operate the Mobile Health Clinic (MHC) to and from FIU locations as requested. Prepare the clinic at the start of each day and secure all medical items prior to departure. Perform daily 360° external walk‑around inspections of the mobile clinic before and after trips. Assist patients entering and exiting the mobile health clinic, operate wheelchair lift and prepare patients for transport. Conduct triage for all patients by checking vital signs, obtaining patient history, and providing care through the entire visit. Document in the Electronic Medical Record and update providers on patient needs. Provide information and obtain consent forms prior to vaccine administration. Manage all lab specimens, ensure correct labeling, and contact the lab for specimen pickup and results. Inspect all medical equipment for serviceability and compliance with safety and infection control regulations. Monitor inventory of supplies; inform management of any supplies needed and medications that will expire. Handle sterile equipment and tools following proper sterilization techniques. Deliver nonsterile tools to the Ambulatory Care Center for autoclaving and collect them after autoclaving. Maintain the Autoclaving Tools Log. Monitor temperature control of refrigerator, freezer, and ambiance; receive notifications of temperature changes. Handle all IT equipment issues while on the MHC. Ensure safety of all FIU providers, students, staff, and patients on the Mobile Health Center, including FIU/NHELP Police contact and panic alarm testing. Keep records of daily procedures, vehicle maintenance logs (including vaccine and medication logs, panic alarm, eye wash station, IT, and AED) and report any issues to management. Fuel the MHC, add water to the fresh water tank, check gray water levels, and maintain records of all vehicle repairs and maintenance. Perform other related duties as required or directed. Minimum Qualifications

Graduated from an accredited EMT program. Licensed Emergency Medical Technician. Basic Cardiac Life Support certification. Valid Florida Driver's License, CDL - Class E. Desired Qualifications

Ability to work flexible schedule, including weekends and early evenings. Driving experience with an Emergency Vehicle Operators Certification (EVOC) preferred. Job Category
