Job Description TSR is seeking an experienced
Chemical Process Engineer
with
5–15 years of professional experience
to join our EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) team. This role supports the design and execution of projects across the
specialty chemicals, biofuels, oil & gas, and fibers industries . The successful candidate will be responsible for leading process design deliverables, ensuring technical quality, and mentoring junior engineers, while collaborating across multi-disciplinary project teams.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development and review of
Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) ,
Heat & Material Balances (H&MBs) , and
Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) .
Perform and check
process equipment design and sizing
for columns, reactors, exchangers, pumps, and other critical process units.
Conduct and validate
relief device calculations
in accordance with industry codes and best practices.
Prepare and review process design documentation, including
process data sheets, design basis documents, and utility balances .
Provide technical input during project execution phases (FEL, FEED, Detailed Design, EPC) and ensure alignment with client requirements.
Review and approve vendor documents and participate in vendor technical discussions.
Support and participate in
Process Hazard Analyses (PHA), HAZOPs, operability studies, and safety reviews .
Mentor and provide technical guidance to less experienced engineers within the process team.
Interface with clients, project managers, and other engineering disciplines to resolve technical issues and deliver projects on schedule.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering
5–15 years of process engineering experience
in an EPC or industrial project environment.
Proven expertise in developing
PFDs, H&MBs, P&IDs, equipment sizing, and relief system design .
Proficiency with process simulation software (Aspen Plus, Aspen HYSYS, or equivalent).
Strong knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and practices (API, ASME, OSHA, NFPA, etc.).
Demonstrated ability to manage process deliverables on multi-discipline projects.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Experience engaging with clients and supporting proposal development is a plus.
