Base pay range $55.00/hr - $62.00/hr
Responsibilities Kforce has a client that is seeking a Data Engineer in Houston, TX. Key responsibilities include:
Gather and manage large, complex datasets.
Redesign data marts for scalability and optimization.
Implement process improvements (automation, data delivery, infrastructure).
Develop dashboards and executive reports using Tableau or Power BI.
Build and maintain data models in Oracle and AWS.
Collaborate with business and analytics teams on data quality and standards.
Provide ad hoc reporting and support marketing tests.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related discipline with 4+ years of experience; or Master's degree with 3+ years.
4+ years of professional experience in business intelligence and data analysis.
3+ years of SQL experience.
3+ years of programming experience.
2+ years of hands‑on experience in Databricks and GCP.
2+ years of experience with a visualization tool like Tableau or Power BI.
Good understanding of cloud technologies with 1+ year of hands‑on experience in AWS and big data distributed ecosystems.
Hands‑on experience in SAS, R, or Python.
Experience with dimensional modeling and improving data reliability and quality.
Experience working with large datasets.
Good understanding of relational and non‑relational databases.
Preferred Qualifications
Retail, energy, or gas/power industry experience.
Root cause analysis and process improvement skills.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work with incomplete data and ambiguity.
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
