Job Description And Duties Are you an experienced engineer who enjoys working on landfills? Do you enjoy solving complex problems? Do you have the ability to think outside the box? If so, this Senior Hazardous Substances Engineer role offers the opportunity to manage complex investigations, removal actions, and remedial actions at a hazardous waste landfill site.

Independently manage and review the more complex engineering, scientific and technical aspects of investigations, removal actions and remedial actions including PRPs’ essential operations and site investigations (Preliminary Endangerment Assessments, Targeted Site Investigations, Engineering Evaluation and Cost Analysis, and Remedial Investigation/Feasibility Studies).

Provide consultation and review documents on the implementation of the Casmalia Record of Decision.

Evaluate assessment of complex data and make recommendations for further actions.

Oversee preparation of Removal Action Workplans, Remedial Action Plans, and CEQA documents for public review and comment.

Provide technical support for data analysis and design/implementation of site repairs, modifications, or improvements.

Conduct PRP searches or related work in consultation and support of legal staff.

Complex environmental engineering project experience.

Landfill experience.

Project management experience.

Team‑oriented work style.

Geotechnical engineering background.

Special Requirements

Valid California Driver’s License (CDL) required. Applicants must provide CDL number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements/restrictions.
