Base pay range: $49.00/hr – $52.00/hr. Actual pay based on skills and experience.
Job Summary The Senior EHS Specialist provides technical support to the plant by coordinating EHS activities and programs. The role supports implementation and maintenance of environmental, health, and safety systems, collaborating with Corporate EHS, plant management and cross‑functional teams.
Responsibilities
Guide and coordinate EHS activities across one or more locations.
Promote safe work practices and reinforce company safety policies.
Monitor EHS indicators and lead incident investigations, developing corrective actions.
Ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations and environmental permits.
Lead environmental compliance efforts, audit procedures and training programs.
Serve as EHS subject‑matter expert, responding to plant inquiries and mentoring other specialists.
Collaborate with Plant Manager, Production, Maintenance and Engineering on corrective actions and facility deficiencies.
Support the new employee orientation and EHS training completion.
Coordinate with HR on workers’ compensation cases and with vendors on EHS needs.
Assist with sustainability operations assessments and capital project planning.
Perform hazard and operability studies and other EHS related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science, Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Chemical or Environmental Engineering (or related field).
Minimum 4 years of experience in workplace environmental, health and safety program management.
Knowledge of OSHA regulations, PPE, EPA environmental policies, accident/injury investigation procedures.
Experience with Process Safety Management (Management of Change) preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication, computer skills (Google Suite).
Strong organizational and time‑management skills; flexible and confidential.
Team player with interpersonal skills; ability to travel and work flexible hours.
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) preferred.
