Role description Arcadis is looking for an experienced environmental graphic designer to join its Environmental Graphic Design Studio in our Houston office. The studio’s work ranges from wayfinding, signage, and environmental graphics projects. Our team regularly collaborates with urban designers, architects and interior designers, and we thrive when faced with the challenge of creating a complete branded environment, from the smallest boutique store to a full‑scale signage system for a new city. Our graphic designers are an integral part of each design team.

Role accountabilities Designs and produces presentation materials related to architecture and interior design projects such as signage, presentation materials, interior graphic elements.

Designs projects from concept through implementation

Creates sign location plans and message schedules

Provides technical guidance to junior staff

Works from relevant consultant documents to generate detailed drawings of signing, wayfinding and thematic EGD elements (2‑ and 3‑dimensional)

Reviews and approves shop drawings and material finishes

Conducts research for the project team

Collaborates with internal design teams to support design and technical tasks

Leads team on art direction and graphic design tasks

Supports branding studio as needed in a deadline‑driven environment

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Industrial Design or related field

7+ years of related Environmental Graphic Design experience

Proficient in drawing to scale and understanding architectural drawings including plans, elevations, sections and details

Working knowledge of materials, finishes, the EGD fabrication process and ADA standard compliance

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Understanding of how to implement complex wayfinding strategy

Effective in managing time deadlines and budgetary constraints

Compensation The salary range for this position is $73,000 – $120,000. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
