Eaton’s IS VEH EMB division is currently seeking a Quality Engineer.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $67,500.00 - $99,000.00.
Salary information is a general guideline and may vary based on candidate skills, experience, and qualifications.
Position Overview: This role is responsible for ensuring the outgoing quality of all products to meet or exceed customer requirements and expectations.
Duties include outbound inspection, first‑article & PPAP inspection approvals, segregation, identification, re‑work, and proper disposition of non‑conforming parts.
The engineer will also direct end‑of‑line inspections, ensure manufacturing and supporting documentation is complete, and maintain quality engineering and testing functions daily.
The facility must comply with IATF and ISO‑9001 certifications.
Location: This is an on‑site, Monday‑Friday position at our Carol Stream, IL facility. Relocation is not available.
Responsibilities
Manage external corrective actions received from customers.
Provide internal communications regarding all customer corrective actions.
Manage customer concern notifications and coordinate internal actions to resolve customer concerns.
Lead all customer‑requested audits, including leading the audit, coordinating internally to meet customer needs and expectations, communicating audit results internally, and assigning owners to corrective actions identified during the audit.
Manage First Article Inspection Requests, including prioritization and coordination with external inspection providers as needed.
Maintain visual management of FAIR tracking.
Generate PPAP submission packages and control plans that meet customer expectations.
Manage, dispute, and generate all customer Returned Merchandise Authorizations.
Perform statistical review of product data for issues, trends, and improvements as needed.
Travel as required to support and meet the needs of customers.
Continuously seek ways to improve the customer experience.
Support quality activities as requested.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Engineering degree from an accredited institution.
1+ years experience in quality engineering within a manufacturing environment.
Ability to read blueprints, technical data sheets, and schematics.

Preferred Qualifications
2+ years experience in quality engineering within a manufacturing environment.
Skills in analyzing quality data to identify trends and areas for improvement, with proficiency in tools such as Excel or Minitab.
Flexibility to adjust to changing priorities and new challenges in a dynamic work environment.
Experience with ISO 9000 and product/process auditing techniques.
Previous experience communicating with Engineering, Tool Room, and Production to promote specification compliance and customer PPAP submission.
Detailed knowledge of manufacturing processes and inspection techniques.
Experience with electrical or electro‑mechanical products.
Root cause analysis experience.
Strong analytical skills and business acumen.
Experience in quality management system requirements.
Ability to manage multiple projects and activities with results driving focus.
Process‑oriented and able to contribute to continuous improvement.
Knowledge of process auditing techniques to ensure compliance with defined quality requirements.
High motivation, sense of urgency, and energetic approach to job duties and requirements.
Skills
Strong interpersonal skills.
Good written and oral communication skills in English (Spanish preferred).
Ability to follow direction while displaying cooperative and positive behavior with co‑workers.
Problem‑solving skills.
