The Contract Controller will supervise all financial and accounting operations, ensuring adherence to financial regulations while optimizing performance within the financial leasing and funding sector. Essential Functions & Skills:
Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards.
Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making and financial planning efforts.
Monitor key financial performance indicators and provide insights to senior management.
Supervise daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
Ensure proper accounting treatment for leasing and funding transactions, including lease origination, modifications, and terminations, in accordance with ASC 842 and other relevant standards.
Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings and reconciliations.
Ensure compliance with tax regulations, financial reporting standards, and industry-specific regulations.
Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors to manage annual audits and tax filings.
Develop and implement internal controls to protect company assets and ensure financial accuracy.
Lead and mentor the accounting and finance team, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
Collaborate with other departments, including sales, operations, and legal, to provide financial insights and support.
Optimize accounting systems and tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve financial reporting and internal controls.
Prepare and submit timely regulatory filings and reports in accordance with financial leasing industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Stay informed about evolving leasing and financial services regulations to ensure ongoing organizational compliance.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification is preferred.
A minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within the financial leasing and funding sector.
Proficiency in accounting software and the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
In-depth knowledge of lease accounting standards and experience with lease accounting software.
