Role Description Reporting to the Chief Financial & Operating Officer, the Finance Manager will join a growing and strategic team. This experienced professional will help to oversee the financial health of the Jewish Federation of Greater Houston. The Finance Manager will collaborate with the CFOO to manage financial forecasting, budgeting, reporting, cash flow, and financial analysis to keep the organization financially sustainable.
Responsibilities
Oversee cash flow management and ensure the availability of funds to meet current and future obligations.
Ensure departments are working within the established budgets and that revenue and expenses are correctly coded.
Collaborate with the CFOO to design and maintain finance policies and work with the Budget & Finance Committee.
Work with outside financial contractor to:
Ensure regular and accurate preparation of financial reports
Design and maintain internal controls and accounting procedures.
Ensure compliance with all financial regulatory and reporting requirements.
Coordinate external audit processes and materials.
Prepare internal reports as requested.
Implement improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and transparency.
Other responsibilities and duties as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a relevant field.
At least five (5) years of experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in a non-profit environment.
In-depth knowledge of GAAP accounting, specifically non-profit and fund accounting.
High competence with Microsoft Excel, Sage Intacct, and other financial systems.
Sharp analytical thinking and data interpretation skills.
Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation abilities.
Unwavering attention to detail and accuracy.
