Job Title: Construction Project Engineer

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Construction Project Engineer to join our team in Grand Rapids, MI. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction engineering and project management, with the ability to oversee and coordinate various construction projects from inception to completion. This role requires excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with project managers and other engineering staff to develop project plans, including scope, schedule, and budget.
Assist in the preparation and review of construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
Oversee day-to-day construction activities on-site to ensure compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and project timelines.
Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality of work, and adherence to safety protocols.
Manage project documentation, including change orders, RFIs, submittals, and daily reports.
Analyze project risks and develop mitigation strategies to address potential issues.
Utilize construction management software to track project progress and report on key performance indicators.
Facilitate effective communication between all parties involved in the project to ensure smooth operations.
Assist in resolving any construction-related issues that may arise during the project lifecycle.
Participate in project meetings and provide updates on project status and challenges.
Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, regulations, and standards.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in construction project engineering or management.
Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, AutoCAD, Revit).
Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as required.
Preferred Skills
Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.
Experience with sustainable building practices and LEED certification.
Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modeling) processes.
