Job Summary Prepares event documentation and coordinates with group sales, catering sales, hotel departments, and customer to ensure consistent, high‑level service throughout pre‑event, event, and post‑event phases of hotel events.
Primarily handles high‑complexity events and key accounts. Manages in‑house details for group and convention bookings (guest rooms, menus, set‑up), negotiates rates, ensures room and meeting‑space revenue, reports to Cluster Director and Director of Catering.
Essential Job Functions
Plan, upsell, and detail program with client (space, equipment, menus, themes).
Monitor convention group room requirements; ensure commitments are met.
Manage function details, handle customer complaints, and ensure quality delivery.
Improve convention services through sales tools, menu development, and competitor analysis.
Control event budgets to maximize revenue and minimize expenses.
Communicate with customer verbally and in writing; follow up post‑event.
Act as liaison between hotel and customer through all event phases.
Lead pre‑event and post‑event meetings; facilitate Banquet Event Order meetings.
Manage group room blocks and meeting space for assigned groups.
Ensure adherence to standards, policies, and procedures.
Integrate current industry trends.
Complete Catering Sales Activity Critiques (weekly/monthly/quarterly).
Guest Satisfaction
Build long‑term relationships and maintain high customer satisfaction.
Provide leadership in guest hospitality and consistent high‑level service.
Respond to feedback and complaints promptly.
Share best practices and drive continuous improvement.
Leadership & Organizational
Demonstrate commitment to operating principles; hold self and others accountable.
Address conflict, manage change, and make timely decisions.
Conduct regular one‑on‑one meetings; administer smart goals.
Track leads and promote referrals.
Manage resources and ensure SOPs are current.
Collaborate across departments and share information.
Experience & Qualifications
2–3 years of catering/rooms experience in hospitality.
Proven track record of quality service delivery.
Previous leadership experience preferred.
Excellent verbal and written English communication.
Knowledge of hotel policies and procedures; convention/catering, F&B, hospitality professions.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Physical demands: frequent walking, standing, lifting up to 10 lbs.
