Job Summary This therapist performs as a clinically competent practitioner of respiratory care, providing respiratory care to patients with minimal guidance. The responsibilities include therapy, management, rehabilitation, diagnostic evaluation, and care of patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies; administering oxygen and other medical gases, aerosolized medications, positive pressure breathing devices, ventilators, and resuscitation devices; performing pulmonary diagnostic procedures and assessments; and collaborating efficiently with the healthcare team across clinical/critical care settings.
Qualifications
Associate’s Degree required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred from an AMA‑approved Respiratory program.
Valid State of Connecticut Respiratory Care Practitioner license.
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) granted by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) prior to orientation.
BLS/ACLS Certified.
Ability to function as a self‑directed team member.
