Job Summary:
The Respiratory Care Practitioner administers respiratory therapy to assist, control and/or improve patients' breathing. Administers oxygen and other medical gases, aerosolized medications, positive pressure breathing devices, ventilators, resuscitation devices, etc. Performs pulmonary diagnostic procedures and assessments and performs additional related duties as assigned or necessary.
Education And Training
Respiratory therapists must have a minimum of an associate degree from an accredited respiratory therapy education program.
Licensures/ Certifications
Licensed by the State of Washington as a Registered or Certified Respiratory Therapist or LPN. All cardio-pulmonary techs must have a current ACLS certificate including managers. All new hires must complete the ACLS course within one year. Current American Heart Associations BLS/CPR certification card on hire or within orientation period.
Experience
One year of clinical experience preferred.
Skills And Abilities
Skills include the ability to adapt to changing technology, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, patience and empathy, the ability to work independently, but also the ability to work with a team of care givers, and impeccable attention to detail.
