Job Description The Lube and Tire Technician at Monro (General Service Technician) is an entry‑level automotive technician position and a great way to start your career at Monro. Starting day 1 you will participate in a comprehensive mechanic training program covering all aspects of your new role. As a General Service Technician, you will perform maintenance services on guest vehicles and help deliver 5‑Star guest experiences by ensuring people have safe, reliable transportation.
Responsibilities
Keyholder duties including supervision of shop while the Store Manager is not working.
Running end‑of‑day paperwork and cash handling.
Acting as an assistant to the store manager in their duties and responsibilities.
Mechanic duties such as changing, mounting, and installing tires.
Wheel removal, tire repair, balance, and tire patch/plug repairs.
Quick lube type duties such as lubrication and oil change.
Inspect and rotate tires.
Basic automotive maintenance work such as battery installation.
Training to do alignments, brake services, and scheduled maintenance services.
Compensation The hourly range for this role is $16 – $17 based on experience. The role is eligible for additional compensation and incentives, with pay determined by experience level.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications
HS diploma or GED equivalent.
Automotive experience.
Own a basic set of mechanics tools or participate in a tool purchase program.
Valid driver license.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Positive attitude and a collaborative mindset.
Ability to work with hands overhead, stand for long periods, and lift 50 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
Automotive technician or lube and tire experience.
