Job Description You will be responsible for leading and managing the Engineering Department. With solid technical knowledge and leadership skills, you will help ensure the smooth operation of our facilities, maintain high guest satisfaction standards, and promote continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Direct workers engaged in painting and performing structural repairs to masonry, woodwork, and furnishings of buildings
Requisition tools, equipment, and supplies
Inspect completed work for conformance to blueprints, specifications, and standards
Study production schedules and estimate worker-hour requirements for completion of job assignments
Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules
Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase crew efficiency
Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving work problems
Initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve goals
Maintain time and production records
Coordinate activities of individual departments with other supervisors
Perform activities of workers supervised
Execute the strategic vision and direction of the Engineering Department, aligning with the resort’s overall goals
Provide leadership, guidance, and mentoring to the maintenance team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence while ensuring accountability
Implement, train, and enforce safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe environment for guests and employees
Assist in managing the Engineering Department’s budget, including capital reservations, P&L reviews, and expense forecasting
Support development and management of maintenance programs, procedures, and schedules to optimize departmental efficiency
Plan and execute major capital improvement projects from concept to completion, ensuring adherence to quality standards, budgets, and timelines
Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify maintenance needs, safety issues, and areas for improvement
Serve as a liaison with vendors, contractors, and suppliers to facilitate efficient and cost-effective maintenance operations
Manage procurement and inventory of all tools and materials assigned to the Engineering Department
Create documents using Microsoft Office applications such as Excel and PowerPoint
Use resort operations software and devices (HotSOS)
Communicate professionally through radios, phones, emails, and verbal interactions
Perform maintenance and cleaning tasks as needed
Read and interpret blueprints, technical data, and O&M manuals
Recognize and resolve potential hazards on the property
Use hand tools, power tools, and battery-powered tools, along with other relevant tools required for the job
Work using ladders, scaffolding, lifts, dust masks, and within confined or restricted spaces
Understand and address guest needs with positive interactions toward resolution
Adhere to all CFI/Westgate Resorts policies and procedures
Perform other tasks as assigned by resort operations leadership

Qualifications
2+ years of leadership experience in a resort or commercial environment
Licenses or certifications in key trades such as refrigeration, plumbing, or electrical
OSHA safety certification
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in outdoor weather conditions
Detail-oriented with effective communication and interpersonal skills
Adaptable to various tasks, perform effectively under pressure, and meet deadlines consistently
