Maintenance Supervisor – Cedars Foods We are seeking a hands‑on, proactive Maintenance Supervisor to lead our Second Shift and support a team of technicians in a fast‑paced food manufacturing environment.
This role is responsible for overseeing daily maintenance operations, driving preventive and corrective maintenance efforts, and improving equipment reliability and team performance.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate the work of maintenance staff performing equipment repair, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance.
Ensure timely and accurate completion of work orders across mechanical, electrical, and facility systems.
Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager and Engineering team on layouts, upgrades, and technical challenges.
Minimize downtime by improving line efficiency, equipment reliability, and operational performance.
Support the development and execution of preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
Maintain regulatory compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Help manage MRO inventory and maintenance planning systems.
Coach, develop, and evaluate team performance in collaboration with Human Resources.
Monitor staffing needs, conduct interviews, and manage disciplinary or performance actions when needed.
Required Skills & Experience
4+ years of maintenance experience, preferably in a food manufacturing or production environment.
Proven leadership and strong communication and team‑building skills.
Solid knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and building systems.
Ability to read schematics, manuals, and technical documents.
Experience with LOTO, GMPs, OSHA safety standards, and confined space protocols.
Familiarity with predictive maintenance tools, PLCs, and industrial control systems.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and maintenance management systems.
Strong troubleshooting ability using hand tools, fabrication equipment, welding, and measuring instruments.
Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand/walk on concrete floors for extended periods, bend, twist, climb ladders, kneel, reach, and crouch.
Ability to use hand tools and work in elevated areas following safety procedures.
Must wear required PPE (earplugs, safety goggles, hairnets, etc.).
Physical Requirements
Lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
Work on concrete floors for extended periods.
Work in variable conditions (cold, wet, noisy environments).
Climb ladders, kneel, reach, and crouch as needed.
Follow safety procedures and wear PPE.
Work Environment
Exposure to mechanical equipment, wet or humid conditions, noise, vibration, chemicals, and varying temperatures.
Shift flexibility may be required based on business needs.
