Responsibilities

Applies professional technical expertise and guidance to solve complex problems by interpreting technical data such as blueprints or manufacturer's manuals.

Requires thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting/repair procedures, replacement of components, aircraft sheet metal/structural modification and repair, and ability to determine functionality of non-complex electrical systems.

Detailed knowledge of aircraft tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tension‑meters, sheet metal brakes/sheers, etc.

Possesses experience and ability to provide technical support to structural/mechanical engineers and customers.

Excellent organizational skills in prioritizing workload to meet aircraft delivery schedule.

Required to make entries in aircraft logs and records and provide guidance and technical expertise to lower‑level technicians during all aircraft modifications and/or maintenance efforts.

Physically able to deploy with aircraft/unit to overseas locations.

Complies with written company maintenance and logistics procedures.

Complies with FAA regulations, as applicable.

Complies with Air Force aircraft records procedures and ensures aircraft discrepancies are properly recorded and corrected in accordance with approved maintenance procedures and contract terms.

Maintains a clean and organized workplace.

Performs aircraft recovery missions as necessary.

Performs other duties as assigned by Management.

Performs all scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance on the Air Force C‑21 aircraft (commercial variant is a Learjet 35).

Maintains, repairs and modifies aircraft structures, structural components and engines of complex to extreme difficulty.

Maintains and repairs aircraft components including flight controls, engines, avionics/electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems and mechanical components; applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and restoring equipment condition and operation.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent.

Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant License for a minimum of two years.

Valid U.S. driver's license.

U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance.

Ability to read, write and speak English and interpret instructions from technical manuals, blueprints and internal company documents.

Physical capability to work in tight spaces at heights and on wings, use ladders, operate tugs and aircraft support equipment and lift up to 75 lbs.

Works with little or no supervision and accomplishes assignments in a timely, quality manner.

Able to deploy to overseas locations on short notice.

Performs all scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance for the Air Force C‑21 fleet.

Complies with Air Force aircraft records procedures.

Ensures aircraft discrepancies are properly recorded and corrected in accordance with approved maintenance procedures and contract terms.
