Infrastructure Engineer – Platform Engineering Team
We are currently seeking an Infrastructure Engineer with proven expertise within the GCP space. The ideal candidate will be able to translate higher-level business and application requirements into actionable architecture in Google Cloud Platform. We are looking for a strong engineer with a proven track record in cloud infrastructure, delivering scalable and resilient infrastructure in collaboration with software engineers and architects.
You are ideally passionate about infrastructure, infrastructure as code, environment alignment, service provisioning as well as cost management. You are an experienced engineer, with a solid understanding of application-level infrastructure needs, and can easily engage with application engineers and architects. You also have a solid understanding of security needs on both application levels, but in particular at infrastructure level.
We aim to deliver a world‑class payment orchestration platform implemented on multiple regions in GCP, using both single and multi‑tenancy, and having guaranteed SLAs higher than 99.95%. Endless horizontal scalability, resilience and secure operations are the name of the game.
At the application level we use Go on Kubernetes, and we have a strong preference for managed services.
How You Will Make an Impact:
Driving initiatives and providing guidance on GCP with a primary focus on managed services
Help create pipelines for application engineers to develop test and deploy their applications
Work with security architects to understand and implement best security practices
Work with engineers and architects to deliver endless horizontal scalability and resilience
Ensuring we are up to date with the latest technologies and cloud best practices
Having a cloud first, everything as code, and open‑source focus approach
Act as a subject matter expert for CPD's infrastructure in relation to other team members within CPD
Work with colleagues in TechOps to build an enterprise grade infrastructure spanning AWS and GCP using an infrastructure‑as‑code approach
Ensuring stability, security and efficiency of our systems
Help maintain current environments
Assist in building CI/CD pipeline
Knowledge sharing and mentoring others
Participate in creating a high performance DevOps culture spanning all technical functions within CPD
Skills You Will Have Fine‑Tuned:
Knowledge of DevOps practices
Knowledge or operational experience of Kubernetes
5+ years Linux systems administration experience in a large‑scale, high‑traffic, redundant, cloud‑based PaaS/SaaS environment at a Public Cloud provider
Experience working in a Cloud environment such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure
Experience with infrastructure‑as‑code (Terraform for provisioning cloud resources and various ways to generate YAML for Kubernetes)
Experience with disciplines of log management, diagnostics, metrics, capacity management
Strong scripting abilities (Bash and at least one programming language)
Strong expertise in GCP and knowledge about utilization of managed services within GCP
Hands‑on experience working with sensitive data (i.e. within PCI‑DSS)
Demonstrated experience working with GitHub, GitHub Actions, and ArgoCD
Knowledge of Helm charting and CI pipelines for Java is a plus

Other Relevant Skills
Working knowledge with PCI including certification, process, audits, etc.
BI knowledge includes data model tools and systems
