Our client is a well established specialty contractor that focuses on concrete construction in industrial applications. They are looking for a talented

Concrete Construction Estimator

with a minimum of

5 years CONCRETE Construction

experience to work out of their Alpharetta, GA office.

The Construction Estimator is responsible for calculating the possible costs and gains of construction projects. They will independently prepare sections of schematic, design development, and construction document estimates, evaluate subcontractor bids, prepare quantity surveys, and review project plans and specifications. This role requires an entrepreneurial spirit and a proactive approach to meeting and exceeding customer needs and expectations.

Responsibilities

Quantity Takeoffs:

Perform quantity takeoffs using organizational format, detail, and coding for CSI division systems across all project document levels.

Bid Evaluation:

Evaluate subcontractor bids, scopes of work, and ensure comprehensive coverage of project requirements.

Project Understanding:

Acquire a thorough understanding of project requirements and specifications.

Site Visits:

Conduct site visits, attend pre-bid meetings, site tours, and post-bid interviews to gather essential information.

Data Collection & Analysis:

Review project documents, consult experts, collect necessary data, and perform data analysis to produce accurate forecasts and estimates.

Risk Analysis:

Perform risk analysis related to project costs.

Report Preparation:

Prepare detailed reports or bids for submission to relevant parties.

Vendor Relationships:

Foster and maintain effective relationships with customers, design teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders. Actively participate in industry, client, and community relations to enhance the organizational image.

Cost Savings:

Develop knowledge in building designs, systems, and construction materials, implementing cost-saving strategies when appropriate.

Experience and Education

Education:

B.S. in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent work experience with 5 or more years of preconstruction and/or operations experience on commercial projects is acceptable.

Industry Knowledge:

Demonstrated knowledge in civil/site construction, foundation and structural systems, and structural wall systems.

Estimating Software:

Microsoft Suites. familiarity with

On-Screen Takeoff , Bluebeam, bid management, online plan rooms and database applications.

Research Skills:

Strong understanding of research methodology, data analysis, and estimation metrics.

Communication & Negotiation:

Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.

Organizational Skills:

Well-organized, detail-oriented, and reliable.

Requirements

Proven experience as a construction estimator with a basic understanding of accounting and project management concepts.

Great attention to detail and comfort with numbers and technology.

Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen and background check.
