Base Pay Range $110,000.00/yr - $140,000.00/yr
Description Our Client is seeking a skilled Construction Assistant Project Manager with a strong background in field engineering or project engineering to support New York City transit‑related construction projects. This role requires certified safety training and hands‑on experience managing complex transit projects.
A respected general contractor specializing in public infrastructure and transit construction throughout the New York metropolitan area. The company is known for its commitment to safety, quality, and long‑term partnerships with public agencies.
Responsibilities
Assist in managing daily operations of transit infrastructure projects, including work for New York City Transit, Long Island Rail Road (LIRR), MTA, and Amtrak.
Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and field teams to ensure timely and safe execution.
Maintain project documentation including RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
Conduct site visits and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Support scheduling, budgeting, and reporting efforts.
Monitor project progress and proactively identify potential issues or delays.
Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve field challenges and implement design changes.
Ensure all work adheres to MTA and LIRR safety protocols and procedures.
Participate in project meetings and contribute to planning and execution strategies.
Assist in preparing closeout documentation and final project deliverables.
Contribute to ADA upgrades, station rehabilitations, and other public infrastructure improvements.
Interface with agency representatives and ensure alignment with project specifications and regulatory requirements.

Profile
Must have 5+ years of experience, ideally as a Project Engineer or Field Engineer.
Holds MTA NYC Track Safety Certification and MTA Long Island Railroad Worker Protection Training Certification (required).
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Proficient in project management tools and Microsoft Office.
Experience with transit or rail infrastructure projects is a plus.
Commutable throughout New York, New York.
