Job Description The FSE III/IV performs calibrations/qualifications, preventative maintenance, and repairs on small laboratory instrumentation, including balances, pH meters, and chromatography systems (HPLC, GC, UPLC). This role involves field service support, travel to customer sites, inventory management, documentation, and adherence to safety and SOPs.
Responsibilities
Perform troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and repair of laboratory equipment in the field and lab.
Travel to customer sites to perform pipette calibrations and preventive maintenance as needed.
Manage personal parts inventory effectively.
Provide feedback to management regarding service issues and turnaround times.
Complete administrative paperwork and reports promptly and accurately.
Follow good documentation practices (GDP) applicable to daily activities.
Contact customers on time and schedule service efficiently.
Adhere to environmental health and safety guidelines.
Effectively communicate with clients and internal/external parties.
Follow Eurofins work policies, SOPs, and maintain current training.
Maintain client confidentiality and act impartially within the management system.
Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications
Two- or four-year degree in a related science field (e.g., chemistry, analytical chemistry, electronic engineering, biotechnology, or similar) plus 3–5 years (FSE III) or 5–7 years (FSE IV) experience, preferably as a Field Service Technician.
Ability to work in the US without immediate or potential future sponsorship.
Experience providing field service support on GC’s, HPLC’s, and/or UPLC’s.
Physical ability to lift and transport equipment and perform tasks in various lab environments.
Clear, respectful, and timely verbal and written communication.
Experience with technical troubleshooting and problem solving.
Self‑motivated, proactive, and able to travel within customer territory up to 5 days per week (overnight travel as needed).
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Working Schedule Full‑time, first shift, Monday–Friday 8 am–4 pm. Candidates living within commutable distance of San Jose, CA are encouraged to apply. No relocation assistance will be provided. This position is not remote.
