Job Responsibilities Are you looking for a fast‑paced job that will allow you to utilize your superior customer service skills in a rewarding environment? Administer road test examinations for all classes of vehicles, including Class A, B, C, D, E, F, M, CDL and others as required.

Determine applicant’s physical and mental fitness, administer written, oral and automated examinations, and perform pre‑trip vehicle inspections.

Examine, accept, prepare, enter, and print all documents for issuing driver licenses, permits, and identification cards.

Process motor vehicle registration requests, conduct suspension inquiries, modify registration credentials, and issue dealership licenses.

Answer customer inquiries regarding driver, vehicle, registration, titling, and insurance, by phone and in person.

Welcome and direct customers to appropriate areas in the office.

Collect fees and donations for the Gift of Life Trust Fund, reconcile daily reports, and compute vehicle sales taxes.

Receive, code, and issue receipts for surrendered license plates; process pick‑up requests.

Maintain equipment, fax, mail documents, and perform errands for the branch office.

Minimum Requirements

A high school diploma or equivalent.

Must hold a valid South Carolina driver’s license and be at least 21 years of age with one year of driving experience.

Must complete a nationwide criminal background check, including fingerprinting.

Before certification to administer CDL knowledge and skill tests, must complete a formal CDL test examiner trainer course and examination.

Additional Requirements

Excellent customer service and communication skills with internal and external customers.

Thorough knowledge of driver licensing eligibility requirements and DMV organizational competencies.

Ability to perform tasks in both a climate‑controlled office setting and outdoors during road tests, with exposure to varying temperatures.

May need to relocate to an office within 30 miles of home if business needs require.
