Data Center IT Technician – TEKsystems Client
This is a contract-to-hire position based in
Mount Pleasant, WI
(also offered in
Milwaukee, WI ). The role is fully onsite and pays for 3+ shift options. Pay range: $33.00–$35.00 per hour. Expected application close date:

Shift Options
A Side: Days – Sunday to Tuesday (except every other Wednesday) 6 AM–6 PM; Nights – Sunday to Tuesday (except every other Wednesday) 6 PM–6 AM.
B Side: Days – Thursday to Saturday (except every other Wednesday) 6 AM–6 PM; Nights – Thursday to Saturday (except every other Wednesday) 6 PM–6 AM.
Responsibilities
Prepares, stages, sets up, and performs start‑ups and shutdowns of racks, hard drives, and switches according to instructions, checklists, guides, protocols, and emails.
Performs post‑execution quality checks and verifies grounding, staging, labeling, and cabling according to safety protocols, deployment standards, and planned Network Design Tasks (NDTs).
Diagnoses and troubleshoots issues following standard procedures; quickly identifies causes and replaces faulty components.
Decommissions IT hardware for simple changes and refreshes (e.g., memory upgrades, OS rebuilds) following standard procedures with minimal guidance.
Follows procedures to communicate, report, and elevate incidents to appropriate Datacenter Technician Leads.
Moves servers and switches to required destinations, inspects them for damage, and installs/network‑cables them using provided wire maps.
Bundles cables neatly, checks connectivity with network admins, and installs additional components such as NICs, drives, and memory.
Assists in unboxing, prepping, and auditing servers; orders replacement parts and ships defective parts to vendors.
Updates firmware, configures IP addresses, and sets default login credentials on servers.
Provides temporary rack and stack of servers/switches so network admin can remotely log in for configuration.
Deploys and configures GPUs in servers to ensure proper installation and functionality.
Qualifications
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Basic knowledge of computer hardware, servers, and components.
Basic understanding of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
Flexibility to work non‑standard business hours, including weekends and holidays.
Previous data center experience is a plus.
CompTIA certifications desirable.
