Meyer Utility Structures is currently looking to hire a Quality Manager to join our new manufacturing facility in Clinton, IL. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, you will oversee all aspects of the quality function to include inspection, procedural documentation, and all other related sub-functions.

Meyer Utility Structures is an industry leader in the engineering design and fabrication of concrete, lattice, and tubular steel structures for transmission, distribution, and substation applications. With over sixty years of innovative engineering and manufacturing expertise, Meyer has helped to author and validate many of today’s transmission industry standards and specifications.

What You’ll Do:

Serve as the site Quality Subject Matter Expert and govern the Meyer Quality System

Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; employee and process accountability; addressing complaints and resolving problems in accordance with the policies and applicable laws

Identify and lead process improvement activities to reduce cost of poor-quality issues

Ensure vendors and suppliers adhere to Meyer Quality System processes and procedures

Influence operations to ensure customer’s design criteria are properly understood and efficiently produced

Identify production quality risk and performance gaps

Identify and develop process improvement projects, training plans, and quality alerts necessary to develop, coach, motivate, counsel employees regarding quality functions, tools, and philosophies for all production and shipping processes

Use Lean tools and analytical methods to achieve effective root cause analysis, problem solving, and sustainable corrective action

Plan, prepare, conduct, and present internal quality audits, improvements, and reports

Prepare for and plan third‑party audits as needed

Identify, manage, and support field operations as needed

Work with departments and across shifts to ensure Quality Management System adherence

Lead trial runs on new product line releases

Develop and recommend procedures to improve quality standards, process controls, inspection methods, and standard repairs

Create and maintain quality documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs) in line with industry standards

Review statistical data from the production line to identify and eliminate quality problems

Interface with customers, suppliers, and company departments to resolve quality problems.

Perform other duties as requested

What You’ll Need:

Bachelor’s Degree required with preference in an engineering focus

Certified Welding Inspector

5+ years of Quality experience in industrial metal fabrication

Experience with AISC and DOT quality systems

Level II inspection experience in UT, MT and VT preferred

Direct experience in team facilitation and group leadership

Knowledge of welding procedures and qualifications

Experience in key performance indicator management and developing leading indicators

Strong Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint skills

Must be able to demonstrate good interpersonal skills; ability to work with others efficiently and effectively both one‑on‑one and as a part of a team/group

Effective communication skills, both verbal and written

Salary Range $81,620 to $106,000/Commensurate with Experience
