Overview
The Woodstock Club is located in the heart of Indianapolis just north of the downtown area. The club is a private facility with over 500 members having access to the entire property and amenities. Primarily known at a social & racquets club, Woodstock has thrived recently in the golf world playing 10,000 rounds on a 9 hole layout all while getting a younger more family driven demographic. Woodstock was founded in 1915 and has a very supportive membership and continues to grow with younger families joining and using the club on a regular basis. Other amenities that comprise the club include Tennis, Pickleball, Paddle Tennis, Swimming, and a very active social calendar. In addition to the golf course, The golf shop has an indoor facility that will support lessons, fitting, and indoor simulator golf year round using Foresight GC Quad technology providing additional opportunities for the staff year round.
Experience Required
College Graduation
Enrolled in the PGA Education / PGM Golf Management Grad
Golf knowledge and background preferred
Entry into min. PGA Level 1 preferred
Essential Responsibilities The assistant professional will report to a PGA Head Professional and coincide with one other full-time assistant to run and manage the day to day operations. Each full time assistant will see all parts of the golf professional operation giving them a chance to grow in their careers and pave a path for their next move after their time at Woodstock.
The two assistants will help navigate the day to day operation splitting duties of outside services, merchandising, and the tournament experience helping them pin point their preferred areas of the golf business.
The assistants main responsibilities will include servicing the membership through the daily golf experience, managing a small outside staff team, overseeing merchandising, conducting lessons and clinics both inside and outdoors, along with coordinating and running a summer junior golf program. The assistant staff will be asked to work 5-6 days a week approximately 45-55 hours a week during the golf season (April 15th-October 15th). The shoulder months should see the hours and days of work decrease to 4-5 days / week and 30-40 hours opening up a more flexible plan from November 15th – April 1st). With the indoor facility being open year round, lessons will be available for additional income however hours spent in the shop year round will be expected with the indoor facility getting more use over those months.
