Position Overview A3 Visual is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to oversee the company’s accounting operations and financial reporting. This is a key leadership role that will strengthen our financial systems and ensure the continued success of a company with more than 50 years of industry experience.
The Controller will be responsible for managing all day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring compliance with GAAP, and providing timely and accurate reporting to company leadership. This role is ideal for a hands-on financial leader who thrives in a dynamic, project-driven environment with multiple revenue streams. The right candidate will play a pivotal part in enhancing financial processes, supporting operational efficiency, and contributing to A3 Visual’s long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities • Lead and manage all daily accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, job costing, and general ledger.
• Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes with accuracy and timeliness.
• Prepare, analyze, and present detailed financial statements and management reports.
• Monitor cash flow, job costing, and project profitability, ensuring accurate cost allocations.
• Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Partner with operations and project management teams to ensure accurate tracking of project expenses, billings, and margins.
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions as needed.
• Identify process improvements and implement new systems or tools for efficiency.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering professional growth and accountability.
• Report directly to ownership/leadership with actionable insights on the company’s financial health.
Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA is a plus but not required).
• 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with at least 3 years in a Controller role.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Experience in manufacturing, printing, event production, or project-based industries preferred.
• Proficiency in accounting and ERP systems with a minimum of 2 years’ experience with NetSuite.
• Strong Excel skills required, including SUMIF(S), VLOOKUP/XLOOPUP, INDEX-MATCH, pivot tables, ability to consolidate multi-company financials.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work on-site in Los Angeles daily.
• Proven track record of stabilizing financial processes in a mid-sized company (200+ employees).
