Workers' Compensation Claims Specialist III

Holmes Murphy . This position supports our Creative Risk Solutions team as we manage and resolve Workers’ Compensation claims. The ideal candidate will possess strong claims experience and a commitment to delivering efficient, high‑quality service.
Essential Responsibilities
Receives, gathers and accurately transmits Workers’ Compensation information to the company from communications with insured, claimants, and internal staff in a timely manner.
Investigates, evaluates, and resolves lost‑time Workers’ Compensation claims, including litigated claims.
Mediates situations between the insured and the insurance company, researching coverage issues with minimal supervisory support.
Enters and maintains accurate data on the computer system throughout the claim process, including final settlement information.
Generates checks for indemnity and medical payments on a daily basis.
Develops and monitors consistency in claims‑handling procedures within CRS.
Willingness to become licensed if required in the jurisdiction where claims are handled.
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma; college degree preferred. Technical designations such as AIC and CPCU are encouraged.
Experience: 3–5 years of Workers’ Compensation claims experience with a strong background in claim handling.
Licensing: Active state‑specific Workers Compensation License required or ability to acquire license within three months of hire.
Skills: Proficient knowledge of Workers’ Compensation coverage and claims processing procedures, ability to adjudicate lost‑time claims across multiple jurisdictions, and capacity to learn new software quickly.
Technical Competencies: Strong grasp of claims principles and insurance coverage interpretation, with a focus on problem‑solving, relationship building, and client service delivery.
