The

Vice President of Finance

is responsible for the overall leadership, direction, and execution of PUSH’s financial operations. This position provides strategic and operational oversight for accounting, banking, bonding, insurance, and financial reporting while leading critical initiatives to modernize systems and improve visibility across the organization.

The Vice President of Finance serves as a key member of the leadership team and primary financial partner to the President / CEO, ensuring accurate, timely, and transparent financial information to support effective decision‑making. The role includes direct accountability for the successful implementation of a new ERP system, development of standardized job and equipment costing models, and establishment of consistent, data‑driven reporting across regions and projects.

This position requires a highly trusted leader capable of balancing strategic perspective with hands‑on execution, guiding a small, dedicated team while building the financial infrastructure necessary for future growth.

Duties and Responsibilities Financial Leadership & Oversight

Lead and develop the accounting and finance team; establish clear roles, expectations, and accountability.

Oversee all accounting, payroll, AR/AP, cash management, and internal control functions.

Serve as financial liaison for banking, bonding, insurance, and audit relationships.

Coordinate annual external financial review or audit process with a third‑party accounting firm.

Maintain GAAP compliance and ensure accuracy of financial statements.

Produce timely monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting for leadership.

Systems & Process Implementation

Lead the selection, configuration, and rollout of a new ERP integrating accounting, job costing, and reporting.

Standardize processes and documentation across all finance and accounting functions.

Align financial systems with operational and regional reporting needs.

Drive training and adoption to ensure long‑term success of new systems.

Costing & Profitability Visibility

Enhance current burden‑based costing by implementing detailed equipment and project‑level cost tracking to capture true utilization, operating cost, and regional performance.

Integrate equipment utilization and production data for true cost visibility.

Deliver dashboards and scoreboards translating financial data into field‑level insights.

Partner with operations to continuously validate and refine cost accuracy.

Planning & Decision Support

Develop budgets, forecasts, and rolling cash‑flow projections.

Maintain financial models for long‑range planning, capital allocation, and scenario analysis.

Provide analysis to support pricing, bid strategy, and resource planning.

Present concise financial insights to support leadership decisions.

Ensure compliance with all tax, bonding, and regulatory requirements.

Oversee corporate risk management, insurance coverage, and internal controls to mitigate exposure.

Support evaluation of new markets, acquisitions, and strategic investments.

Growth Enablement & Scalability

Build a finance function capable of supporting multi‑regional operations and future acquisitions.

Lead continuous improvement of financial systems and data integration across all entities.

Partner with leadership to evaluate technology, process, or acquisition opportunities that support growth and efficiency.

Establish consistent financial visibility for regional and project leaders.

Create the systems, reporting, and accountability structure required for future CFO‑level management.

Actively contribute to leadership team meetings, providing financial perspective to guide company strategy and operational planning.

Perform additional duties as needed.

Education and/or Experience

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. CPA and/or MBA strongly preferred. Additional executive or leadership development training is a plus.

Work Experience:

Minimum 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience, ideally within construction, utilities, or industrial service organizations. Demonstrated success building and leading finance functions in growth‑oriented environments. Proven experience implementing and optimizing ERP systems such as Viewpoint, Sage Intacct, Acumatica, CMiC, or comparable platforms. Deep expertise in cost accounting, equipment costing, and job‑costing analysis for project‑based operations. Track record of driving process improvement, system modernization, and data transparency. Experience collaborating directly with ownership or executive leadership to guide strategy, financial planning, and operational decision‑making. Active involvement in CFMA and/or CCIFP certification preferred.

Industry Knowledge:

Comprehensive understanding of the construction and infrastructure industries, including financial reporting, risk management, and project‑based accounting practices.

Requirements

Proven leadership experience in finance and accounting management, with demonstrated success overseeing multi‑entity operations, reporting, and compliance.

Advanced proficiency with financial systems and ERP platforms (e.g., Viewpoint, Sage Intacct, Acumatica, CMiC, or comparable), along with strong Microsoft Excel and reporting skills.

Deep understanding of GAAP principles, internal controls, and financial reporting standards.

Ability to analyze and interpret complex financial data, identify trends, and present actionable insights to leadership.

Strong knowledge of cost accounting, equipment costing, and job costing in a project‑based environment.

Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and organization, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.

Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams, delegate effectively, and drive accountability.

Proven track record of implementing process improvements and modernizing systems or workflows.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to partner effectively across operations, leadership, and external stakeholders.

Professional integrity, sound judgment, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
