Senior Software Engineer – Cybersecurity Automation Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer with a strong cybersecurity background to design and automate security-focused solutions within cloud and software development environments. This role is responsible for embedding security into every stage of the SDLC through automation, secure design, and collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams.

The ideal candidate is both technically hands-on and strategically minded, capable of improving architectures, streamlining workflows, and driving secure-by-design development practices across modern cloud infrastructures.

Primary Responsibilities

Partner with security and development teams to create scalable, automated solutions that strengthen software and infrastructure security.

Integrate and operationalize commercial and open-source security tools to support secure build, deployment, and delivery pipelines.

Develop and maintain automation that improves detection, remediation, and prevention of vulnerabilities.

Collaborate with engineering teams to embed security best practices into CI/CD workflows and deployment models.

Enhance secure coding maturity by providing guidance, training, and hands-on support.

Build and maintain monitoring and alerting systems for automated tools and services.

Participate in evaluating, refining, and evolving the company’s security automation and architecture frameworks.

Recommend process improvements and develop new scripts, frameworks, and integrations to increase efficiency.

Support the implementation of AI-enabled security workflows and assist in defining responsible AI practices.

Mentor peers and junior engineers on automation, security integration, and AI-assisted development.

Participate in an on-call rotation as needed to support key services and ensure operational reliability.

Qualifications Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).

4+ years of experience in software development, security engineering, or DevSecOps (advanced degrees may substitute for experience).

Experience with

React and other frontend frameworks

.

Solid understanding of

AWS services

and

cloud-native architecture design .

Hands-on experience with

containers ,

microservices , and

CI/CD pipelines .

Strong programming background with proficiency in

C# and Python .

Working knowledge of

application security tools

(e.g., SAST, SCA, DAST).

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred:

Master’s degree in a technical or cybersecurity-related discipline.

Familiarity with

Infrastructure as Code

tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.

Demonstrated ability to diagnose complex issues and deliver scalable automation solutions.

Knowledge of

monitoring platforms

such as CloudWatch, Splunk, or New Relic.

Understanding of

network security concepts ,

encryption , and

key management .

Background in

build automation ,

Docker , and

container orchestration .

Exposure to

generative AI

tools and their application in secure software development.
