Elementary School VEX Robotics Coach - MPE
Position title: Elementary VEX Robotics Coach. Supervisory: No. FLSA Status: Exempt. Terms of Employment: EPER – 10 months. Benefits Type: NonBenefited – EPER. Reports To: Building Principal. Certificated and/or professionally licensed non-administrative employee of the Brandywine School District who works in the building where the position exists preferred. Good organizational/leadership skills. Meets established deadlines. Availability to travel with students when required. Essential Job Functions
Hold regular student meetings/activities after school hours (minimum: 1x per week for team practice and building). Supervise and assist students effectively during weekly meetings, extra build nights, and robotics events. Provide time and supervision for students to design, build, program, and test their robots. Prepare and submit required registrations (i.e. transportation, parental permission, registration, etc.) as needed throughout the school year. Coordinate and oversee Friday Home robotics events, including setup 3-4x a year. Help set up robotics events, including Home Event and Extravaganza. Supervise students during the end of season Extravaganza Event and other competitions. Organize and facilitate extra build nights as needed to prepare for competitions. Manage robotics administration, including emails, phone calls home, and communication with parents, students, and district staff. Ensure all equipment and materials are properly maintained, stored, and inventoried. Promote teamwork, problem-solving, and sportsmanship within the robotics program. Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, and type or write. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color vision, peripheral and depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The physical demands include the ability to perform all essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations. Work Environment
