This strategic leader will drive the execution of Grant Thornton’s product strategy for the Tax service line, overseeing development, prototyping, and launch of innovative, AI‑enabled solutions that enhance our professional tax services worldwide.

Job Description The Head of Global Product – Tax will lead distributed teams across multiple markets and regions, ensuring operational excellence and measurable impact. Key responsibilities include:

Execute the global product strategy for Tax, aligning with business objectives and market needs.

Shape and communicate the product vision and roadmap for Tax, collaborating across the Tax practice, Technology organization, and key corporate stakeholders.

Focus on use case development and requirements gathering for Tax products, ensuring alignment with business needs and practitioner insights.

Build strong relationships with Tax leaders, Technology leaders, and enterprise stakeholders (Risk, Legal, Compliance, Finance, HR, Operations) to ensure product initiatives meet enterprise requirements and drive business value.

Partner with the Head of Product Innovation and the innovation engineering team on prototyping and MVP development.

Collaborate with the Technology Transformation group to drive change management and adoption, overseeing product investments and ROI.

Build and scale product capabilities across international delivery centers and standardize processes and governance.

Leverage data, automation, and AI to drive efficiency and innovation in tax service delivery.

Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and technical excellence within global teams.

Conduct market research and competitive analysis, define and track KPIs, and use customer feedback to drive continuous product improvement.

Engage with industry forums and peer product leaders to stay current with trends and best practices.

Manage talent acquisition and development strategies for the global Tax product team.

Communicate product vision, progress, and impact to executive leadership and stakeholders.

Qualifications

10+ years of experience in product management or development, with significant exposure to tax services in a professional services environment.

Demonstrated experience within professional services tax practices, understanding client needs and operational processes.

Deep understanding of tax compliance frameworks and industry standards enabled by technology.

Proven ability to collaborate with tax leadership and practitioners for product innovation.

Proven success in leading global, cross‑functional teams and delivering complex products at scale.

Strong understanding of tax processes, regulatory requirements, and technology trends (AI, automation, data platforms).

Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MST, or similar) preferred.

Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

Experience working with global delivery centers highly valued.

Preferred Experience

Experience in Big 4 or major professional services firms.

Familiarity with Agile and Lean methodologies.

Experience with cloud‑based data platforms and workflow automation tools.

Understanding of regulatory environments across regions (e.g., CAMT, ASC 606, VAT).

Multilingual experience or working in multilingual environments.

Base salary ranges: Chicago, Downers Grove, Denver, Baltimore – $206,300 to $343,800 per year; Washington, DC, Bellevue, Los Angeles, Newport Beach, San Diego, Iselin, New York – $222,804 to $371,304 per year; San Francisco and San Jose – $237,245 to $395,370 per year.
