Overview
Management Liability Underwriter – Senior Private/Non-Profit role in the Midwest (Saint Louis Office). This position underwrites and manages a portfolio of management liability risks for private and non-profit organizations, focusing on Directors and Officers (D&O) Liability, Employment Practices Liability (EPL), Fiduciary Liability, and Crime insurance. You will handle insureds ranging from small and middle-market businesses to large, complex organizations, and collaborate with brokers, clients, and internal stakeholders to deliver tailored insurance solutions.
Responsibilities
Underwrite and manage a portfolio of management liability risks for private and non-profit businesses.
Assess and analyze risk information to make informed underwriting decisions.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers, clients, and internal stakeholders.
Actively pursue new business opportunities and expand Zurich’s portfolio.
Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior underwriters and other team members.
Collaborate with the claims and legal teams to ensure effective handling of claims and policy interpretation.
Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and market developments.
Contribute to the development and implementation of underwriting strategies and initiatives.
Participate in client meetings, presentations, and negotiations to secure new business and retain existing accounts.
Qualifications
Senior Management Liability Underwriter – Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5 or more years of experience in the Underwriting, or Market Facing area. OR
High School Diploma or Equivalent and 10 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area OR
Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 3 or more years of experience in the Underwriting, or Market Facing area. OR
Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 8 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office
Experience working with time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business.

Compensation and Benefits The combined salary range for this position is $70,600.00 - $153,000.00. The proposed salary range for the Mid-Senior is $70,600.00 - $115,700.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 10%. The proposed salary range for the Senior is $93,400.00 - $153,000.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 15%.
