Job Overview The Patient Engagement and Customer Solutions (PECS) team is seeking a Field Reimbursement Manager (FRM) to support patients using Janssen immunology therapies across the Agoura Hills, Westlake Village, Santa Clarita, Santa Barbara, and Thousand Oaks territories. The FRM serves as the primary field-based lead for education, assistance, and issue resolution with healthcare providers (HCPs) and their office staff, improving patient access to J&J Immunology therapies.
Primary Responsibilities
Educate HCPs on product coverage, prior authorizations, appeals, reimbursement processes, claims submissions, procedures, and coding requirements of payer organizations.
Collaborate with sales representatives and key account managers, serving as reimbursement expert for the local team.
Act with urgency to resolve critical access and affordability issues for patients.
Partner with managed care colleagues to understand current policies and potential future changes.
Conduct field-based reimbursement and access support, education, and creative problem‑solving aligned to FRM Rules of Engagement.
Build strong, trust‑based relationships with customers in assigned Immunology accounts.
Manage territory logistics, routing, and account business planning.
Maintain and grow knowledge of national, regional, local, and account market dynamics, including coverage and coding requirements.
Expand knowledge of hub and specialty distribution channels to improve patient support needs.
Collaborate with internal J&J departments (marketing, sales, medical science, SCG, IBG, HCC, and PECS) as subject matter expert on access and affordability solutions across multiple payer types.
Execute business in accordance with the highest ethical, legal, and compliance standards, completing all required training.
Market Access Expertise
Extensive knowledge of medication access channels including pharmacy and medical benefits, buy‑and‑bill, and AOB across multiple sites of care.
Remain current on product coverage and access knowledge, marketplace conditions, and stakeholder practices to deliver effective support.
Adapt to the changing healthcare ecosystem and customize messaging to HCPs and staff.
Qualifications Required
Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, business, public administration, or related field; MBA or MPH preferred.
Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience.
Account Management and/or Reimbursement experience in hospital and/or provider office settings.
Expertise with pharmacy and medical/buy‑and‑bill benefits, coding, and billing.
Experience in revenue cycle, buy‑and‑bill, prior authorization, coding, and appeal processes.
Ability to establish relationships, collaborate, and influence across a matrix organization.
Strong problem‑solving skills for challenging access scenarios.
Experience with patient support HUB services.
Valid U.S. driver’s license with compliant driving record.
Up to 50% travel.
Permanent residence in the listed territory.
Preferred
Immunology disease‑state experience.
Advanced degree or certifications in prior authorization, billing, and coding.
Market access acumen related to payer approval processes.
Understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, and private payer initiatives affecting reimbursement.
Technical knowledge of payer policy and reimbursement (coding, coverage, payment).
Proficiency with Salesforce.com CRM, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
Compensation Base pay range: $100,000 – $175,000. Eligible for long‑term incentive program and company‑sponsored benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, accident insurance, 401(k), and additional time‑off benefits.
