Position Snapshot:

PV & BESS Design Manager to lead the technical design and execution of utility‑scale solar and energy‑storage projects.

Responsibilities

Lead the engineering design and modeling of ground‑mounted solar PV and BESS projects to optimize performance, cost efficiency, and profitability.

Direct development and review of engineering drawings, site layouts, and electrical schematics using industry‑standard tools such as AutoCAD, PVCase, and PVSyst.

Refine internal design workflows and serve as the primary technical liaison for client coordination, leading high‑level internal and external project meetings.

Review and approve complex construction documents, ensuring accuracy, contractual alignment, and adherence to codes and best practices.

Provide strategic oversight during pre‑construction and early execution phases, collaborating with permitting, procurement, development, and finance teams.

Stay abreast of emerging solar and BESS technologies, regulatory changes, and design methodologies to inform strategy and maintain compliance.

Contribute to high‑level technical reports, due diligence reviews, and feasibility assessments for executive and external stakeholders.

Mentor and grow multidisciplinary engineering and design teams, fostering technical excellence and operational consistency.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; a PE license is highly preferred.

Minimum of 12 years of experience in utility‑scale solar PV and BESS design.

Hands‑on experience with battery technology selection, sizing, single‑line development, inverter selection, cable and grounding calculations, and full system design administration.

Proven ability to manage and develop large teams with a focus on talent development and mentorship.

Strong strategic planning and business development skills, including annual business planning and revenue growth experience.

Proficiency in solar PV modeling software and related technical tools.

Familiarity with utility‑scale solar project designs: single‑line diagrams, civil/structural/electrical site plans, DC/AC wiring, and equipment layouts.

Pay Range $145,000 – $200,000
