BHI Manufacturing Solutions, a premier metal‑forming contract manufacturer with over 60 years of industry experience, is seeking a results‑driven *Quality Manager* to lead its U.S. operations in Garden Grove, California. The role supports high‑precision manufacturing for the aerospace, medical device, defense, and electronics industries.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop, implement, and maintain Quality Management Systems (QMS) in compliance with

AS9100D

and

ISO 9001:2015

standards.

Serve as primary contact for customer quality representatives, auditors, and regulatory authorities.

Ensure consistent application and integration of quality procedures across departments.

Lead initiatives to enhance and improve the QMS through continuous evaluation and updates.

Manage and lead the quality team, including inspectors and technicians, to ensure high‑performance output and quality standards.

Develop training programs for QA staff and cross‑functional teams to foster a culture of quality.

Mentor and coach quality personnel, promoting accountability and growth.

Plan, coordinate, and lead internal audits, third‑party audits, and customer audits.

Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory, customer, and certification requirements.

Coordinate corrective and preventive action processes (CAPA).

Oversee inspections (incoming, in‑process, final, and first article) and manage product acceptance or rejection processes.

Ensure that all inspection and control plans are being followed accurately and consistently.

Review and approve quality documentation including FAIRs, PPAPs, In‑Process Control Plans, and SPC reports.

Analyze quality performance data and metrics to identify trends, root causes, and areas for improvement.

Walk the production floor regularly to observe processes, engage with employees, and conduct periodic in‑process audits to ensure compliance with procedures and standards.

Lead root cause analysis and facilitate problem‑solving methodologies such as 8D, FMEA, or CAPA.

Champion continuous improvement projects to reduce defects, enhance processes, and improve product quality.

Maintain and improve quality documentation, including work instructions, visual aids, and standard operating procedures.

Provide regular reports and quality metrics to senior management to ensure transparency and alignment with company goals.

Prepare and review Nonconformance Reports (NCRs), lead MRB (Material Review Board) meetings, and implement necessary follow‑up actions.

OTHER ACTIVITIES

Reports, isolates and identifies suspect and nonconforming products and out of control conditions.

Prepares nonconformance reports (NCRs) and conducts MRB meetings as needed.

Assist in Inspection (incoming, first article, In‑process & final inspection) & approves or rejects products for shipments.

Perform floor audits and verify that in‑process control checks are performed at established frequencies, documentations are properly filled out, and instructions are being followed.

Assist on internal calibration, monitors calibration system and arrange calibration with calibration providers.

Prepares PPAP packages and similar documents.

Performs and analyzes capability studies.

Process Engineering Change Requests.

Creates and updates quality documents: FAIRs, In‑Process Control Plans and SPC forms.

Updates and creates work instructions, visual aids and prepares quality reports.

Train other QA Techs and Operators.

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Supervise quality technicians and inspectors, ensuring effective workflow, adequate staffing, and timely inspections.

Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and implement development plans.

Handle conflict resolution and team dynamics to ensure a positive and collaborative working environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in quality management, Engineering, or a related technical field.

3+ years of experience in quality assurance roles, including 1-2 years in a leadership or managerial capacity.

Strong knowledge of

AS9100 ,

ISO 9001:2015 , and related quality standards.

Experience with quality tools and methodologies (e.g. SPC, CAPA, FMEA, 8D).

Proficient in the use of quality software and Microsoft Office applications.
