The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Virginia School of Medicine seeks an MD or MD/PhD Physician‑Scientist to join our growing Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology on the tenure track. The role is based in Charlottesville, Virginia, and will be funded at the assistant, associate, or full professor level with a competitive start‑up package and protected time for research. About the Division
Our pediatric hematology/oncology group conducts research and clinical care focused on hematologic malignancies, pediatric sarcomas, embryonal tumors, CNS malignancies, stem cell transplant, and immunotherapy. The candidate will work in a collaborative environment that supports both laboratory and clinical translational research. Research Expectations
The appointee will develop an independent scientific program that addresses benign or malignant disorders of hematopoiesis, CNS cancers, non‑CNS solid tumors of children, immune deficiency states, or disorders of hemostasis. Strong potential for sustained extramural funding and a record of high‑impact publications are required. Clinical and translational research interests are encouraged. Qualifications
MD or MD/PhD degree Board‑certified or board‑eligible in Hematology‑Oncology Exceptional research record or strong potential for innovation Experience or expertise in: hematologic malignancies, pediatric sarcomas, CNS cancers, solid tumors, immune deficiency, or hemostasis disorders Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills Commitment to professionalism, integrity, and academic excellence Application Instructions
