Estate/Fiduciary Accountant
to join their collaborative and respected team in the
Naples, Florida office .
This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys applying their financial expertise in a sophisticated legal environment, particularly in the areas of estate, trust, and fiduciary work.
The Estate/Fiduciary Accountant will play a key role in supporting attorneys and clients with the preparation and review of estate, gift, and fiduciary income tax returns. This position involves hands‑on work with trust and estate administration, as well as maintaining accurate accounting records and responding to inquiries from tax authorities.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and file Federal and state estate tax and gift tax returns
Prepare and file Federal and state fiduciary income tax returns
Prepare estate and trust accountings
Handle informational returns for tax‑exempt entities
Assist with estate and gift tax planning, including actuarial and interest computations (e.g., QPRTs, GRATs, CRATs, CLUTs)
Maintain and update estate and trust accounts and tax records
Respond to audit inquiries from the IRS and state tax agencies
Support attorneys with estate administration tasks, including probate filings, inventories, asset collection, and distributions to beneficiaries
Other duties, as needed
Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a trust and estate practice at a law firm, CPA firm, or financial institution
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage deadlines in a fast‑paced legal setting
Professional demeanor and ability to develop strong working relationships with attorneys, clients, and colleagues
Flexibility This position allows the candidate to work from home one day per week after their first 90 days. Additional flexibility may be available depending on performance and team needs.
All candidates must be able to work at a computer screen for a sustained amount of time. Infrequent lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds.
