Location:
Omni Parker House Hotel, Boston, MA (just 2.5 miles from Logan International Airport). The hotel is a historic landmark on the Freedom Trail, offering 551 luxurious guest rooms and a blend of modern amenities with historic charm.
Job Overview:
Responsible for delivering guest service excellence by building relationships, anticipating and meeting guests’ needs, and delivering cocktails and beverages to the highest standard. The role requires a comprehensive knowledge of all food and beverage menus and adherence to uniform quality service standards.
Responsibilities
Maintain and elevate service standards, ensuring compliance with hotel policies and local laws.
Prepare for and support health, safety, and sanitation inspections.
Demonstrate extensive knowledge of alcoholic beverages, mixology, and the full beverage menu.
Follow standard operating procedures for bar setup, glassware polishing, garnish preparation, stock ice management, beverage dispensing, and proper bar closing procedures.
Perform sidework such as cleaning bar areas, wiping down surfaces, and maintaining the bar’s visual cleanliness.
Verify guest identification for age compliance.
Adhere to proper trash procedures and ensure the cleanliness of all kitchen and banquet service areas.
Support kitchen and banquets by ensuring timely transition of service and maintaining quality control.
Keep accurate POS, cash, and credit transaction records.
Provide courteous, responsive service, addressing complaints promptly and turning dissatisfied guests into repeat visitors.
Stay current with hotel offerings, local attractions, and entertainment options.
Attend daily stand‑up meetings to coordinate event requirements.
Maintain an organized, professional appearance in line with Omni Parker House standards.
Attend all mandatory trainings, meetings, and safety briefings.
Perform any additional duties as directed by management.
Qualifications
Hands‑on food and beverage experience and a comprehensive understanding of the hospitality industry.
Minimum of two years bartending experience in a large convention‑style hotel.
Strong mixology skills, including knowledge of beverage garnishes and overall service.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
High‑level customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor and strong problem‑solving abilities.
Ability to engage guests at all levels and deliver personalized service.
Capacity to handle high‑stress, fast‑paced hotel operations while maintaining professionalism.
Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to stand/walk for extended periods.
Adherence to appearance and personal hygiene standards.
Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
Computer literacy, including payroll systems, Micros, and POS systems.
Serve Safe certification (unexpired) and TIPs status required.
