Conductor Equipment Operator - 2nd Shift
Judd Wire Inc., a Sumitomo Electric Group company, is looking for a Machine Operator – Conductor Equipment Operator for the 2nd shift at our Turners Falls, MA Manufacturing Facility. The role involves setting up and operating machinery to draw and bunch copper wire to specified diameters and quality standards.
Minimum Hourly Rate : $20.32/hour, plus $2.00/hour 2nd shift differential.
Responsibilities
Work from orders, schedules and production parameters to achieve efficient output within due dates.
Set up and operate Multi‑Wire Fine Draw machines, monitor specimen length and weight, and detect die wear.
String up machines, run rod breakdowns, and ensure proper elongation.
Match short‑length multi‑wire reels, perform product changeovers, and conduct cold welding as required.
Enter data into the BPCS system and maintain production documentation.
Perform minor maintenance such as changing annealer bands.
Identify and report defective materials, equipment malfunctions, and unusual conditions.
Observe safety rules, maintain equipment and work areas in a clean, organized condition.
Cross‑train on additional machines and contribute to flexible scheduling.
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED with basic math skills.
Ability to perform moderate physical effort: frequent moving, lifting up to 60 lbs., pushing and pulling.
Long periods of standing and attention to repetitive tasks.
Conscientiousness, teamwork and willingness to learn.
Exposure to fumes, dust, and temperature variations; awareness of hearing conservation requirements.
