As we continue to grow and evolve, we are seeking a visionary Chief Innovation Officer to lead our transformation strategy from our Atlanta office.

Job Summary:

The Chief Innovation Officer will be responsible for driving strategic innovation across our multi-office platform, identifying and implementing forward-thinking solutions that enhance client service, streamline operations, and position the firm as a leader in legal technology and process excellence. This executive role requires a dynamic leader with deep legal industry insight, a strong understanding of insurance defense, and the ability to unify innovative efforts across a geographically distributed organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Firmwide Innovation Strategy

Develop and execute a national innovation roadmap that aligns with the firm’s business objectives and client expectations.

Foster a culture of innovation across all 39 offices, encouraging collaboration, experimentation, and continuous improvement.

Monitor legal tech trends, regulatory shifts, and competitive developments to inform strategic planning.

Operational Technology

Evaluate, select, and implement advanced legal technological products (e.g., AI tools, case management platforms, analytics engines) to improve efficiencies and return on investment.

Partner with IT and practice groups to optimize workflows, automate routine tasks, and enhance data security and compliance.

Lead digital transformation initiatives including document drafting automation, research, and quality assurance.

Client Experience & Service Delivery

Design innovative client engagement models, including real-time dashboards, predictive analytics, and self-service portals.

Collaborate with attorneys and client teams to create solutions that deliver measurable value and transparency.

Ensure innovative efforts are tailored to regional client needs while maintaining consistency across offices.

Work with client technology vendors and advise technical solutions to future legal market changes.

Talent Development & Change Management

Champion firmwide training programs on new technology tools, methodologies, and innovation best practices.

Facilitate cross-office sandbox demos, design metrics, and collaborative workshops with attorneys and paralegals.

Manage change initiatives with empathy, clarity, and strategic communication to ensure adoption and alignment.

Lead and oversee a group of experts in legal data analytics and artificial intelligence tools.

Education, Experience, and Skills:

JD or advanced accredited college degree in business, technology, or related field preferred.

Bachelor's Degree Required

10+ years of experience in legal services, insurance defense, or professional services innovation.

Expert in technology platforms such as Microsoft Office, Co-Pilot, Westlaw, iManage, Litify, Aderant, various electronic billing platforms, and web-based legal technology systems.

Proven track record of leading innovation or digital transformation across multi-office organizations.

Strong understanding of legal operations, insurance litigation, and regulatory environments.

Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Experience with data analytics, and process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.).

Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, manage multiple deadlines, and delegate effectively.

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a focus on collaboration and follow-through.

High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and compliance.
