DENTAL HYGIENE/ASSISTING - PROGRAM DIRECTOR DESCRIPTION South College Nashville is seeking a Dental Hygiene Program Director to grow our thriving Dental Hygiene Program. The Program Director will provide instruction and implement the Dental Hygiene and Dental Assisting programs, educating students in accordance with DENTAC accreditation standards.

Responsibilities
Prepare lectures and practical demonstrations.
Implement and evaluate daily lesson plans.
Demonstrate and assist students with lab procedures ensuring safety.
Plan instruction to meet curriculum objectives.
Review student success, reduce withdrawals, and encourage retention.
Maintain a 95% success rate for all classes.
Record and update student grades and transcripts.
Evaluate student performance.
Provide necessary provisions to meet learning needs.
Arrange and coordinate guest speakers, community service, and clinic visits.
Assist and advise students in curricula.
Monitor academic progress.
Coordinate externships for assisting students.
Requirements Education
Graduation from an accredited Dental Hygiene or Dental Assisting program and five years of occupational experience as a dental professional.
Master’s degree in a related field.
Licensure
Current CPR certification.
Required state, local, or federal licenses and certifications.
Experience
Proficient in didactic and clinical four‑handed dentistry.
Current knowledge of Dental Hygiene and/or Dental Assisting.
Aware of state requirements for these programs.
Credential from Dental Assisting Board or Board Dental Hygiene Examination.
Verbal and written communication skills.
