The Company’s Total Rewards package is at or above industry levels. The expected base salary range for this position is between 67,760.00 USD – 88,935.00 USD. Job‑related skills, experience, education, and location will be considered in setting actual starting base salary. In addition to your base salary, and depending on job level, eligibility, and performance, a total package may include profit sharing, a short‑term incentive and/or long‑term incentives. ABOUT THE ROLE Step into a leadership role at SC Johnson Lifestyle Brands as the Material Handling Supervisor at our vibrant Chicago‑based manufacturing facility, the Southside Soapbox (SSSB). You’ll be at the heart of operations, setting the pace for performance, ensuring compliance, and translating plant initiatives into meaningful action. With a sharp focus on accountability and team engagement, you’ll partner closely with the Materials Manager to drive continuous improvement projects that make a real impact. Your strategic insights will shape KPI reporting and help push operational excellence to new heights.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage deployment of finished goods staging lanes to external distribution centers, including overflow movement
Ensure efficient and accurate material replenishment to the production lines, and returns to inventory locations including storage trailer movement and accuracy
Drive 5S, quality, safety and performance monitoring, utilizing safety reviews, daily audits, real‑time updates and inspections to ensure that standards and procedures are maintained and followed at all times. Responsible for the implementation, training and reporting of all new and established procedures and issues.
Identify needs, provide proper training (OSHA Compliant Forklift Certification) and update certification records for team
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE YOU WILL BRING
Bachelor’s Degree
3+ years of experience in warehousing/materials field with at least 2+ years in a people leadership capacity
1+ years experience with ERP systems such as SAP
Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship for full‑time employment.
Ability to work first shift hours (5:45 AM – 2:15 PM CT, M‑F) and occasional weekends
PREFERRED EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS
Creative problem solver, capable of driving solutions to challenging opportunities
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage great autonomy and lead a team‑focused effort
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities required by the department workload
Excellent collaboration / customer service skills
Communicates well at all levels of the organization
Proactive approach and work ethic appropriate for a fast‑paced, team‑oriented, growing company
Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office, Excel and Outlook
Must be flexible to work weekends and overtime as needed
Sense of humor, a positive outlook with a "can‑do" attitude!
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Full time Monday‑Friday with expectation to be available for plant‑wide meetings or trainings outside of office hours
Availability for periodically scheduled Saturday OT
Full‑time, hourly (overtime eligible)
This role is in Chicago, IL (Southside)
Onsite, 5 days a week requirement
This role is not offering relocation assistance
