Job Description The Associate Athletic Director will assume a leadership role with oversight of daily operations of selected sports programs and will lead in the coordination of various essential functions within the department. Responsibilities include supervising, planning, programming, and implementing the duties and functions of a diverse and progressive intercollegiate athletic program. In collaboration with the Director of Athletics, the Associate Athletic Director will be responsible for coordinating the completion of all NCAA and University System of Maryland reports. The Associate Athletic Director will work closely with the Athletics department staff in carrying out the philosophy and objectives of the athletics program, fulfilling the University’s commitment to the holistic development of all student athletes.
Responsibilities
Assist with daily internal operations of the Department of Athletics.
Serve as sport administrator for identified Olympic sport programs.
Provide supervision for department administrative assistants.
Assist with other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.
Experience:
Minimum 6 years administrative and supervisory experience in intercollegiate athletics.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
NCAA rules and guidelines regarding intercollegiate compliance.
Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience.
Budget management experience.
Demonstrated ability to complete NCAA reports.
Social media awareness.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Valid state driver’s license.
Conditions of Employment:
Light physical demand when needed. Max lift 30 lbs.
