Description The Chief Electrical Mechanical System Engineer is responsible for coordinating the daily efforts of maintenance and advanced (senior-level) installation, maintenance, oversight, and repair work. This position plans electrical system additions or modifications on secondary circuits, working on secondary electrical systems that are 1000 volts and below.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Install, repair, maintain, and test commercial industrial electrical systems and EVCS.

Use industry‑related hand tools and power tools.

Measure, cut, bend, thread, etc., and install wire, electrical cable systems, conduit systems, and other wire raceway systems.

Repair, maintain, troubleshoot, and inspect building electrical systems, EVCS, and all related systems.

Install, repair, maintain, and test other electrical systems such as fire life safety systems, PA systems, security systems, control systems, robotic systems, micro‑grids, and related systems.

Work on low‑voltage and high‑voltage systems as per authorization and level of training & certifications.

Feed to pull into and terminate wire and cable within control centers, distribution boxes, transformers, transducers, switchgear, receptacles, switches, etc.

Splice and terminate wires at junction points.

Troubleshoot equipment electrical systems and control circuits, and build control panels from drawings.

Prepare sketches and schematic diagrams showing the location of wiring and electrical systems.

Work on emergency generators, power distribution units (PDU), uninterrupted power supply systems (UPS), DC batteries, automatic transfer switches (ATS), and related systems.

Develop, review, and execute electrical safety job plans, job safety analysis (JSA), and job hazard analysis (JHA).

Communicate effectively with facility team members, engineering team members, and supervisors.

Adhere to all NEC, NFPA 70B, NFPA 70E, OSHA, local, state, federal, and building owners safety procedures and protocols.

Read, interpret, review, and analyze electrical drawings, sketches, line diagrams, etc.

Progressively handle more difficult work and accept more responsibility while learning the job and ultimately performing the work required as the business environment changes.

Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

Possess a current and valid CA Commercial Journeyman Electrician C‑11 License or ability to obtain it within one year.

Minimum 5 years overall experience after obtaining the journeyman certification/license (or for AZ applicants, minimum 5 years experience as a journeyman electrician) and at least 2 years experience with EVCS.

Knowledge of national electrical codes, NFPA codes (especially NFPA 70, 70B, 70E, 72) and all related building codes.

Training in NFPA 70E electrical safety procedures and PPE.

Demonstrated ability to read, interpret drawings and wire diagrams.

Working knowledge of electrical code (local and IEEE) as it applies to controls.

Experience in determining scope of installation materials.

May be required to achieve and maintain other certifications as needed for job duties.

Must respond to and address callouts and emergencies within 1 hour during and after regular business hours, including after dark hours, requiring carrying a communication device on rotational call.

Strong client‑focused job planning and prioritizing skills.

Ability to work with a team, follow direction from supervisors, maintain required work schedules, focus on detail, and follow work rules.

Knowledge of lock‑out/tag‑out protocols, OSHA, and other electrical safety procedures.

May work in low‑lit areas.

Must be available for shift work when applicable.

Must be able to frequently climb to and work from elevated platforms, excavated areas, ladders, stairwells, walkways, articulating lifts, etc.

Pay : $120000 - $140000 DOE

The pay listed is the salary range for this position. Any specific offer will vary based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data.
