Key skills include deep expertise in IBM MQ, scripting, automation, performance tuning, and collaboration with development teams.
Core Responsibilities Architecture and Design
Design, document, and implement MQ architectures for high‑volume, complex messaging systems on various platforms (e.g., distributed and mainframe).
Lead the rationalization and modernization of existing MQ estates, including developing roadmaps and setting platform standards.
Ensure designs are scalable, secure, and maintainable, and align with enterprise strategy.
Implementation and Development
Develop integration solutions using IBM MQ and related technologies, ensuring seamless integration with applications.
Configure and manage MQ environments, including queues, topics, and channels.
Implement and manage security configurations, such as SSL/TLS and channel authentication.
Operations and Support
Provide end‑to‑end support for solution integration, including deployment and monitoring.
Custom develop monitoring and alerting solutions.
Serve as the final escalation point for complex MQ‑related incidents and conduct root cause analysis.
Ensure high availability and disaster recovery configurations.
Leadership and Collaboration
Collaborate with application development, infrastructure, and operations teams to drive best practices and architectural consistency.
Act as a subject matter expert, mentoring junior engineers and translating technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Work with vendors to evaluate emerging technologies.
Required Skills and Experience Technical Expertise
Extensive experience with IBM MQ architecture, installation, configuration, and administration.
Strong experience in designing and building high‑availability and disaster recovery solutions.
Familiarity with related protocols like JMS and technologies like IBM MQ MFT.
