A fast-growing fintech Series A revolutionizing the student lending space. For the past five years, they’ve been helping students finance their education through innovative loan solutions. They’re now looking for a highly skilled Director of Finance to join them and help shape their Finance & Strategy as they scale.
Seeking a
hands‑on, strategic, and entrepreneurial Finance Director
to join the team and lead all aspects of financial strategy, operations, compliance, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Finance & Accounting
Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting.
Replace outsourced accounting functions and build and lead an internal finance team, starting with a bookkeeping/general ledger support role.
Strategic Financial Leadership
Serve as a core member of the executive team, helping shape strategic direction and financial planning across all business lines.
Advise on capital structure, fundraising strategy, investor communications, and corporate development.
Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure ongoing financial and regulatory compliance, particularly around our registered investment advisor (RIA) obligations.
Operational Excellence
Be hands‑on in day‑to‑day accounting activities as needed.
Implement scalable processes and systems to support company growth.
Cross‑functional Collaboration
Partner with Legal, Product, Marketing and Operations to ensure financial considerations are aligned with product design, investor offerings, and compliance.
Qualifications
10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a senior leadership role
Experience in fintech, early‑stage startups, financial services, or regulated investment products is highly preferred.
CPA and/or CFA is a plus but not required.
Comfortable working in a hands‑on capacity while also setting long‑term financial strategy.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, compliance, and tax implications for multi‑entity structures.
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, roll‑up‑your‑sleeves mentality.
