Electrical Engineer
Full-time | On-site | Redwood City, CA
About the Role
We’re looking for a
hands‑on Electrical Engineer
to lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced electromechanical and biotechnology systems.
You’ll own projects from concept through field testing — designing PCBs, validating prototypes, and integrating electronics into rugged, real‑world systems.
This is an ideal role for an engineer who thrives in fast‑paced environments, enjoys full‑stack hardware ownership, and wants to build systems that perform under pressure.
If you’re eager to learn quickly, iterate rapidly, and contribute to field‑deployable innovations, this position offers an opportunity to have direct, tangible impact.
What You’ll Do Design and Develop Hardware:
Create PCBs from schematic capture through component selection and layout, including rigid, flex, and rigid‑flex designs.
Prototype and Test:
Build and validate early‑stage designs through breadboards, test circuits, and rapid prototyping.
Ensure Manufacturability:
Apply design‑for‑manufacturing (DFM) and design‑for‑assembly (DFA) principles to ensure scalability from prototype to production.
Hardware Bring‑Up & Debugging:
Validate new hardware using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other test equipment.
Develop Core Circuits:
Design and test systems for sensing, actuation, and power management.
Integrate & Collaborate:
Work cross‑functionally with mechanical and systems engineers to integrate electronics into complex electromechanical assemblies.
Field Test & Iterate:
Travel for live demonstrations, perform stress testing in real‑world conditions, and refine systems based on operator feedback.
Who You Are 3–7 years of hands‑on experience in electrical or hardware engineering.
Proficient in
schematic design and PCB layout
using tools such as
KiCad
or
Altium .
Skilled in debugging and validation using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and test instrumentation.
Strong understanding of
embedded systems , including serial interfaces like
SPI, I2C, and UART .
Experience integrating low‑power or edge computing platforms such as
NVIDIA Jetson, NXP i.MX, Qualcomm Snapdragon, or STM32 .
Comfortable with
C/C++ or Python
for firmware or test development.
Experience designing ruggedized or field‑deployable electronics is a plus.
Tech Stack KiCad, Altium, Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzers, SPI, I2C, UART, Fusion 360, 3D Printing, Machining, NVIDIA Jetson, NXP i.MX, Qualcomm Snapdragon, Rockchip, Nordic nRF, STM32/STM32MP1, C/C++, Python, RTOS
Work Environment Location:
On‑site in Redwood City, CA
Schedule:
Full‑time, in‑person collaboration required
Culture:
Small, hands‑on team working on mission‑driven, high‑performance hardware systems
Compensation & Benefits Salary:
$120K–$150K
Equity:
Included
Visa Sponsorship:
Not available
Benefits:
Comprehensive coverage, PTO, and opportunities to work on cutting‑edge field hardware
