We are seeking a driven, detail‑oriented
Superintendent
to join our team. The ideal candidate will share our passion for excellence, thrive in a fast‑paced environment, and play a key role in supporting the success of our expanding project portfolio.
Job Overview Superintendent will oversee equipment and personnel, manage subcontractors, resolve issues, interpret plans, track daily progress, and report electronically. Responsibilities also involve reviewing and approving daily timecards, handling additional work and Change Orders for various construction projects, assisting the Project Manager with scheduling, implementing scope and cost changes, and ensuring site safety. This role involves building strong relationships with the client’s project team, including the site superintendent, to ensure that work meets or exceeds customer expectations. The position will supervise multiple Foremen across several sites.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management:
Oversee day‑to‑day operations of earthwork and utility projects, ensuring that work is completed according to plans, specifications, and safety standards.
Team Leadership:
Supervise and coordinate field personnel, including foreman, operators, pipe layers, laborers, and subcontractors. Provide guidance and support to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
Safety Compliance:
Implement and enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment. Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections.
Quality Control:
Monitor work quality and ensure compliance with industry standards and project specifications. Address any issues or discrepancies promptly.
Schedule Management:
Develop and manage project schedules, ensuring timely completion of tasks and milestones. Adjust plans as needed to accommodate project changes.
Communication:
Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, including clients, engineers, and project managers. Provide regular updates on project progress and any potential issues.
Resource Management:
Coordinate the use of equipment, materials, and labor to optimize project efficiency and reduce costs.
Problem Solving:
Identify and resolve any project‑related issues or challenges that arise, using creative and practical solutions.
Qualifications
Experience:
Minimum of 5‑10 years of experience in excavation and utility construction, with a strong background in project supervision and management.
Education:
Relevant degree or equivalent experience in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field.
Skills:
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Proficiency in project management software (Heavy Job) and Microsoft Office.
Knowledge:
In‑depth understanding of excavation and utility construction practices, safety regulations, and quality standards.
Certifications:
Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA, CDL) are a plus.
