Job Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Document Quality Control Technician to join our team in the print industry. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, quality, and consistency of printed documents, including brochures, labels, manuals, and packaging materials, in compliance with client specifications and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
Inspect and verify printed materials against approved proofs and job specifications.
Conduct quality checks at various stages of production, including prepress, print, and finishing.
Ensure proper color consistency, registration, alignment, resolution, and finishing details.
Document and report any defects or inconsistencies, and coordinate with production teams to correct them.
Maintain and update quality control documentation, inspection logs, and standard operating procedures.
Collaborate with press operators, designers, and supervisors to address quality concerns and improve processes.
Support audits, both internal and external, related to document quality standards.
Ensure compliance with ISO or other applicable quality standards depending on industry sector (e.g., pharmaceutical, packaging, etc.).
Perform final quality checks before shipment or delivery to clients.
Assist in training new staff on quality control procedures and best practices.
Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or certification in print production, graphic arts, or quality control preferred.
2+ years of experience in a print production or document inspection role.
Strong understanding of printing processes (digital, offset, inkjet, etc.).
Excellent attention to detail and visual inspection skills.
Familiarity with measurement tools (loupe, densitometer, spectrophotometer) is a plus.
Proficiency in reading job tickets, proofs, and technical specifications.
Good organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
